Tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do:

I am a mom of 3 kids, a cat, 2 dog's and a husband :) I collect old discarded Skateboard decks that would normally be thrown away and make jewelry and wall art out of them.

Let us know more about your business name - how did you come up with it?

R3 SK8 Products  is my company name. My friend who is so supportive of my crafting adventures came up with the name. R3 stands for Recycle, Repurpose and Reinvent.

What is your signature style / item? How did it become so?

I started with jewelry and my biggest item was an AZ necklace with a Heart Swarovski crystal. I was born and still live in AZ, it is my home I love it here so no matter if people live here or were traveling they wanted one. I just recently branched out into wall art.

What makes your business unique to the industry?

I think recycling and making everyday items from something unique like an old Skateboard deck is the coolest. The amazing designs and colors always make it amazing.

What's been your biggest roadblock when it comes to business and how have you been able to overcome?

I can be a pretty big introvert. I have a really hard time getting myself out there sometimes.  Putting yourself out there to have your art judged is hard but it's a learning process. But seeing customers faces when they find out what it's made of is worth it.

How has your business had to adapt amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic? What are you doing to navigate the situation?

It is really hard to navigate. Events have been canceled so everything has to be online. Social media is a big help. It's all about communication, making relationships and everyone is willing to help each other out in the small business world. You really need to put yourself out there and be open to who you are .

What is your favorite part of what you do?

I love creating it is my favorite part. To come up with an idea in your head of exactly what you want something to look like, and be able to create it is my ultimate satisfaction.

What is your *must do* local activity?

Before covid if I wasn't working at craft events I love going to local restaurants or supporting local makers at their events. I love supporting them as much as they support me.
