Tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do:
Jenna: Vital You
Hey there! My name is Jenna & I am the founder of Vital You based out of Boulder, CO. In short-I make bath bombs, but to elaborate, I take my passion for herbal medicine & holistic healing & fuse it into a beautiful-usually fizzy-end product.
Let us know more about your business name - how did you come up with it?
I came up with the name Vital You based off of the principle of vitalism. Vitalism in herbal medicine refers to that each of us have our own, unique "vital force" that has its own potential for self-healing. Our products are created around boosting this vitality.
What is your signature style / item? How did it become so?
I would say that 'Cherish' being the first bath bomb we came out with is reminiscent of our signature style. It is colored with natural colorant (organic beetroot powder) & topped with an array of herbs.
What makes your business unique to the industry?
Within the CBD industry, there are a lot of people out there doing what they do for money alone. For me, we keep our prices low & our healing ingredients high. Sure, the return isn't nearly as great as many, but what we care about most is providing the highest healing potential at the lowest cost possible, offering items that are accessible for all so that everyone can experience the healing potential of cannabis & botanicals.
What's been your biggest roadblock when it comes to business and how have you been able to overcome?
The biggest roadblock to Vital You is that we are a CBD-infused business. Although hemp derived CBD became federally legal years back, each individual state has their own laws and regulations around selling CBD products. For us, everything is more difficult-from selling online, to insurance to finding an accountant-we have to jump through so many hoops & do hours of research just to figure out how to continue selling & ensure we are doing so within regulation standards.
How has your business had to adapt amidst the Covid- 19 Pandemic? What are you doing to navigate the situation?
Through this pandemic, we have had to completely alter & shift our traditional way of business. Since 75% of our sales typically came from wholesale orders and markets, and with all retail stores closed & events no longer running, we had to look at how to boost our e-commerce sales, as it is our only true revenue source at this time.
What is your favorite part of what you do?
My favorite part of owning Vital You is when I hear from clients that they receive healing, shifts or relief from using our products. I smile ear to ear when I get a message about what a particular bomb or product offered someone.
What is your *must do* local activity?
Within Boulder I love hiking fern canyon & drinking coffee at Boxcar.
